Lincoln Recruitment Specialists is seeking an experienced Laboratory Test Engineer for a 11-month FTC in Clara, Co. Offaly. The role supports product validation across material, packaging, ageing and analytical testing, owning test programmes from planning through to reporting.

You will work with customers and internal teams to develop test plans, ensure adherence to ISO 17025 and relevant standards, and mentor junior technicians while driving continuous improvements.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry or related discipline.
  • 3 years' relevant industry experience preferred.
  • Experience operating laboratory testing equipment.
  • Familiarity with Minitab beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Laboratory Test Engineer – Clara, Co. Offaly
11 month FTC

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Test Engineer to join a specialist laboratory environment supporting product validation through a broad range of testing services, including material, packaging, transportation, ageing and analytical testing.

In this role, you will take ownership of laboratory test programmes from planning and execution through to analysis and final reporting. You will work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to understand testing requirements, develop appropriate test plans and ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct product and laboratory testing in a controlled environment, ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory and international testing requirements.
  • Analyse test data and prepare accurate, timely and professional customer reports.Develop test plans based on customer requirements and individual test programmes.
  • Liaise directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Work in accordance with laboratory Quality Management Systems, ISO 17025 requirements and relevant international test standards.
  • Support test method validation, competency assessments, proficiency testing and internal audits.
  • Maintain high standards of laboratory housekeeping, cleanliness and sample management.
  • Mentor and support junior laboratory technicians, sharing technical knowledge and best practice.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across laboratory processes and ways of working.
  • Work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider technical team.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemistry or a related scientific/engineering discipline.
  • Experience working in a laboratory, testing, packaging materials, manufacturing or a related technical environment.
  • Ideally 3 years' relevant industry experience, with previous experience in a similar laboratory/test engineering role advantageous.
  • Practical experience operating laboratory testing equipment.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab would be beneficial.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
  • A strong focus on accuracy, quality, customer service and delivering results.
