Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a shift supervisor for the Core Lab to ensure smooth operation during the shift and provide functional supervision to Laboratory Assistants, both general and technical.

The role includes coordinating staffing, supervising tasks, and acting as a liaison to technologists to maintain efficient workflows. Requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license; prior experience in a high-volume lab environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Three years in a high volume environment preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and coordinate with staff and managers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shift activities: schedule staff to ensure coverage and adjust staffing based on workload.
• Act as liaison between lab assistants and technologists to ensure efficient workflow.
• Monitor workflow using online systems and verify specimen collection and receipt.
• Maintain competency and training for all Lab Assistants; assist with annual appraisals and competency checks.
• Maintain procedure manual, document incidents, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
