Job summary

The Ellison Hotel in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, Ireland, is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support the kitchen team. You will keep the kitchen clean and tidy at all times, wash crockery and equipment, and follow cleaning schedules under HACCP guidelines.

Responsibilities include assisting chefs and service teams, handling pots and utensils, using appropriate cleaning materials, and reporting incidents or maintenance needs promptly; punctual, uniformed, and professional at all times.

Qualifications

• Keep the kitchen clean and tidy at all times.
• Wash crockery, utensils and equipment promptly and store properly.
• Follow HACCP and health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly with chefs and service teams.
• Carry out basic cleaning tasks per cleaning schedules.
• Collect and clean pots, pans and utensils.
• Use correct cleaning materials and chemicals as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness, HACCP and safety standards.
• Report incidents, complaints or maintenance needs to management.
• Report for duty on time in full uniform.
• Carry out duties as requested by the Chefs on duty.
• Unload deliveries and keep store rooms and walk-in refrigerators clean.
• Assist in cleaning back-of-house areas as directed.
