Job summary

Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The role focuses on maintaining HACCP standards and ensuring the kitchens are spotless at all times, with strong emphasis on hygiene and safety.

You will operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including the dishwasher, wash and disinfect surfaces, and support the kitchen with a high standard of delivery. The ideal candidate is flexible, hardworking and communicates well; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen environment.
• Fully flexible and able to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills.
• No previous experience required; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HACCP standards in the kitchen.
• Keep the kitchens clean at all times.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools (dishwasher, hand wash stations, etc.).
• Wash and disinfect kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, tools and equipment.
• Understand and deliver to the standards of performance within the Kitchen department.

Lyrath Estate Hotel a 5 star luxurious property nestled on the outskirts of Kilkenny City is currently recruiting for a kitchen porter to join our team.

Your Responsibilities:

• Work alongside the culinary team to maintain HACCP standards.
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchens at all times.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations and pot-scrubbing station
• Wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all standards of performance and delivery within the Kitchen department.

The ideal candidate should have previous experience working in a busy environment and be capable of performing in a very challenging role. You must be fully flexible, hard working, have the ability to work under pressure and have excellent communication skills.

No previous experience necessary as full training will be provided.
