About the Role

Excel Aviation is currently recruiting Kitchen Assistants on behalf of a leading hospitality operation based at Dublin Airport.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, customer-focused environment supporting premium food and beverage services. The successful candidate will assist with food preparation, food presentation, stock control, cleanliness standards, and customer service while ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and food safety are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

Food Service & Customer Support

• Assist in the preparation, presentation, and replenishment of food and beverage offerings.
• Ensure buffets and service areas remain fully stocked and presented to a high standard throughout service.
• Provide a friendly and professional service to customers.
• Engage with customers when required, explaining menu items and responding to queries.
• Gather customer feedback and communicate any issues or opportunities for improvement to supervisors.

Kitchen Operations

• Support chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation and service requirements.
• Follow standard recipes, food specifications, and presentation guidelines.
• Complete preparation tasks for upcoming shifts to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Ensure food is stored, labelled, dated, and rotated correctly in accordance with food safety regulations.

Stock & Deliveries

• Receive and check deliveries, ensuring products are stored in the correct locations.
• Record chilled and frozen delivery temperatures where required.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
• Check storage areas daily for expired products and maintain proper stock rotation procedures.
• Ensure only approved products are accepted into storage areas.

Cleaning & Hygiene

• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness throughout kitchen and back-of-house areas.
• Operate and clean dishwashing equipment safely and effectively.
• Clean floors, work surfaces, fridges, freezers, storage rooms, and equipment daily.
• Empty waste bins and manage waste disposal in line with company procedures.
• Complete cleaning schedules and temperature records accurately.

Compliance & Safety

• Adhere to all Food Safety, HACCP, Health & Safety, and company policies.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and professional appearance.
• Wear the supplied uniform correctly at all times while on duty.
• Attend training sessions and team meetings as required.
• Follow company procedures regarding attendance, sickness reporting, and annual leave.

• Previous kitchen, catering, or food service experience.
