Job summary

Excel Recruitment is currently seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to support busy kitchen operations in Mallow, County Cork. The role involves washing dishes, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with basic preparation while upholding high hygiene standards.

Typical hours are 8am–4pm, Monday to Friday, with weekly pay and holiday accrual. HACCP and Manual Handling certification is required or training can be provided; prior kitchen experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter, Catering Assistant, or in a busy kitchen environment is an advantage.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced setting.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
• HACCP and Manual Handling certification required (training can be facilitated)
• Reliable, punctual, and professionally presented
• Flexibility to take on temporary and short‑term shifts across Cork

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment thoroughly
• Keep kitchen, back‑of‑house, and wash‑up areas clean, tidy, and organised
• Support chefs and catering teams with basic preparation and service duties where required
• Dispose of waste correctly and follow recycling procedures
• Adhere to all food safety, HACCP, and health & safety procedures
• Work efficiently as part of a busy kitchen team to keep service running smoothly
