Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Kitchen Porter/Back of House Assistant at Wesley College Dublin. The role supports the kitchen team with cleaning, food handling, deliveries, waste management and general duties to ensure a safe, efficient catering service for the school.

You will help maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment and assist with food preparation while adhering to allergen and safety requirements. Training is provided for the right candidate.

• Previous kitchen or catering experience would be beneficial, but full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out kitchen cleaning duties, including pot washing and operating a dishwash.
• Keep kitchen areas and prep surfaces clean, tidy and organised.
• Receive, check and store deliveries following procedures.
• Dispose of waste safely and responsibly.
• Support food preparation with attention to allergens and shelf life.
• Complete cleaning schedules and temperature checks and stock takes.
• Assist customer service by serving customers quickly and politely.
• Follow all food safety and health & safety procedures.
• Support setup, service, clearing and cleaning of school functions and events as required.
• Collaborate with Head Chef or Catering Manager and raise issues.
• Complete required training and carry out other duties as requested.
