Job summary

Nove Restaurant in Malahide is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to join the kitchen team. You will play a key role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly by supporting chefs, maintaining hygiene, and ensuring service flows without a hitch.

Join a friendly, fast-paced kitchen environment where you can develop basic prep skills, handle deliveries, and contribute to HACCP-compliant operations. Evening, weekend, and bank holiday work is expected, with progression opportunities within the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is advantageous but not required.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Washing pots, pans, utensils, and crockery efficiently during and after service.
• Keeping kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment clean and sanitised.
• Assisting chefs with basic food prep as needed.
• Receiving and storing deliveries correctly with stock rotation and proper cold/dry storage.
• Managing waste and recycling according to kitchen procedures.
• Maintaining cleanliness in line with HACCP and food safety standards.
• Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Reporting equipment issues or maintenance needs to the Head Chef.

Location: Nove, Malahide, Co. Dublin

Reports to: Head Chef / Sous Chef

About The Role

Nove is looking for a reliable, hard-working Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team. You'll play a key role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly - supporting the chefs, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring service flows without a hitch.

Key Responsibilities

• Washing pots, pans, utensils, and crockery efficiently during and after service
• Keeping kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment clean and sanitised
• Assisting chefs with basic food prep (peeling, chopping, portioning) as needed
• Receiving and storing deliveries correctly (stock rotation, cold storage, dry goods)
• Managing waste and recycling in line with kitchen procedures
• Maintaining cleanliness in line with HACCP and food safety standards
• Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy service periods
• Reporting any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the Head Chef

Requirements

• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience an advantage but not essential
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and pride in cleanliness
• Good team player with a positive, flexible attitude
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
• Basic food safety awareness (HACCP training a plus, or willingness to complete)
