Job summary

BaxterStorey is hiring a Kitchen Porter for a 39-hour week at Moylish, Ireland. The role involves dishwashing, kitchen cleanliness, basic food prep, inventory support and health & safety compliance.

Qualifications

• No formal education required; catering/kitchen experience is a plus.
• Must have physical stamina and be able to stand for extended periods.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is beneficial.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing—wash dishes, utensils, and equipment by hand or in dishwashers.
• Keep kitchen surfaces clean and sanitized and manage waste disposal.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling and chopping.
• Assist in receiving, storing and organising kitchen supplies.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety to maintain compliant health standards.

Salary: €14.15 p/hour

Job Description

• Dishwashing - Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness - Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Food Preparation - Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
• Inventory Management - Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety - maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order

Qualifications

• No formal education is required, but an understanding of the role is required and catering/kitchen experience would be a plus
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
