Job summary

Sodexo Group is hiring a Kitchen Porter at University of Galway to support a busy campus kitchen. You will maintain clean, organized kitchen areas and assist chefs with deliveries, waste disposal and basic food preparation.

This role is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate reliability and a positive attitude, and receive full training and access to Sodexo benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen or hospitality is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• A good eye for cleanliness and hygiene.
• Team-first attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
• Reliability, flexibility and a positive approach to work.
• Ability to follow procedures and work safely.

Responsibilities

• Keep all kitchen areas, equipment, crockery and utensils clean, tidy and well-organised.
• Help chefs check, accept and correctly store incoming deliveries.
• Dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables safely and responsibly.
• Assist chefs with food preparation tasks when required.
• Support the smooth running of kitchen operations during busy service periods.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Work closely with the kitchen team and support colleagues where needed.

What you'll do:
