Job summary

Sodexo, delivering catering services at the University of Galway campus, is seeking a proactive kitchen team member. You’ll help keep all kitchen areas, equipment, crockery and utensils clean, tidy and well-organised.

You’ll assist chefs with deliveries and food preparation, support kitchen operations during busy service periods, and work closely with the team to ensure safety, hygiene and efficient service.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• A good eye for cleanliness and hygiene.
• Team-first attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
• Reliability, flexibility and a positive approach to work.
• The ability to follow procedures and work safely.

Responsibilities

• Keep all kitchen areas, equipment, crockery and utensils clean, tidy and well-organised
• Help chefs check, accept and correctly store incoming deliveries
• Dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables safely and responsibly
• Assist chefs with food preparation tasks when required
• Support the smooth running of kitchen operations during busy service periods
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures at all times
• Work closely with the kitchen team and support colleagues where needed
