Job summary

The King's Hospital School in Dublin 20, D20 V256, is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our Sodexo catering team. You will help keep back-of-house areas clean, assist with deliveries and stock, and support kitchen operations to run smoothly each day.

We value reliability, teamwork and a proactive attitude, with responsibilities ranging from maintaining hygiene to assisting chefs with daily tasks. This role is on-site at the school and offers a supportive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Kitchen Porter in a busy kitchen.
• High standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
• Reliable and punctual when on shift.
• Understanding of food handling, hygiene and safety principles.
• Good communication and team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high cleanliness in back-of-house and storage areas.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment to maximise efficiency.
• Receive deliveries and verify stock against requirements.
• Record keeping, security and safe storage of deliveries.
• Follow food handling, hygiene and safety requirements.
• Assist with fire safety procedures and evacuations when needed.
• Collaborate with chefs to support smooth kitchen operations.
• Keep the kitchen environment organised, safe and tidy.

Support a high-performing kitchen and help maintain the highest standards.

Sodexo is looking for a reliable and proactive Kitchen Porter to join our catering team at The King’s Hospital School.

Working alongside the kitchen team, you'll help ensure the back of house and storage areas are clean, organised and maintained to a high standard. You'll also support with deliveries, stock handling and kitchen equipment, helping the operation run efficiently each day.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, works well as part of a team and can also take responsibility for their own tasks.

What you'll do:

• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and presentation across the back of house and storage areas
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment to maximise efficiency and prolong its working life
• Receive deliveries and check that stock meets company and legal requirements
• Assist with accurate record keeping, security and the safe storage of deliveries
• Follow company and legal requirements relating to food handling, hygiene and safety
• Support the implementation of fire regulations and procedures, including assisting with evacuations when required
• Work closely with chefs and the wider catering team to support the smooth running of the kitchen
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment throughout the kitchen
