Job summary

The Slieve Russell Hotel is seeking an experienced Kitchen Porter to join our hospitality team in Ireland. The role involves wash-up duties, stock rotation, and helping keep fridges and storage areas clean, with opportunities to assist in food preparation under Chef supervision.

A flexible schedule with 3–5 shifts per week and shifts including evenings (and some mornings) is available, supporting a vibrant, award-winning property in County Cavan.

Qualifications

• HACCP knowledge is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills required.
• Fluency in English required.
• Flexibility with working hours is essential.
• Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Wash up and perform cleaning duties.
• Assist with stock rotation and keep fridges/food storage organised and clean.
• Assist in food preparation under the direction of Chefs.
• Promote a positive working atmosphere at all times.

Job description

Are you an experienced Kitchen Porter hoping to further your career in a hospitality environment? Or are you hoping to start your career within a Kitchen environment? Then we want to hear from you.

The successful candidate will be required to complete either 3, 4 or 5 shifts per week depending on the candidates availability.

Shifts will include evening shifts and some morning shifts depending on business requirements (5pm to 11pm, 6pm to midnight, 8am to 4.30pm as examples).

The Position

• This is a varied role which involves assisting our Kitchen team
• You will be required to complete wash up and cleaning duties
• You will be required to assist with stock rotation and keeping all fridges and food storage area's organised and clean
• Working under the direction of the Chefs you may be required to assist in food preparation
• To promote a positive working atmosphere at all times

Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge and familiarity with HACCP is advantageous
• Will possess excellent communication and organisational skills
• Will have fluency in English
• Will be flexible in their working hours
• Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant would be an advantage.
