Job summary

Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore, Ireland, is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team. You will support cleaning duties, maintain high hygiene standards, and assist the kitchen staff with a variety of tasks to ensure smooth service, rapid turnarounds, and excellent guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Hardworking and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective cleaning of back-of-house areas including plate wash, pot wash, canteen, still room, kitchen and fridges.
• Keep stairs and outside rubbish area clean and tidy at all times.
• Compact and store rubbish correctly; empty bottle bin daily.
• Follow cleaning schedules and complete tasks to required standard.
• Assist with deep-cleaning duties with sign-off by HOD.
• Support kitchen team with general duties to ensure smooth operation.

Job description

Cliff House Hotel is currently recruiting for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team.

The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and supporting the kitchen team with a variety of tasks.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensuring the effective and efficient cleaning of all back-of-house areas, including plate wash, pot wash, canteen, still room, kitchen and fridges.
• Keeping the stairs and outside rubbish area clean and tidy at all times.
• Ensuring rubbish is compacted and stored correctly and that the bottle bin is emptied daily.
• Following all cleaning schedules and ensuring tasks are completed to the required standard.
• Assisting with deep-cleaning duties as required, with all deep cleaning checked and signed off by the relevant HOD.
• Supporting the kitchen team with general duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.

Requirements

• Hardworking, reliable and punctual.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• A full clean driving licence would be an advantage.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
