Sprout in Cork, Ireland, is hiring a Kitchen Assistant (Dishwashing Focus). The role focuses on dishwashing and kitchen cleaning, with light prep support. No experience is required, and full training is provided.

• Kitchen Support: Help with basic food prep and support during busy periods.
• Food Safety & Health & Safety: Follow food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures at all times.
• Team Support: Jump in where needed, especially during peak service times.

Kitchen Assistant (Dishwashing Focus)

As a Kitchen Assistant (Kitchen Porter) at Sprout, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly and safely.

This role is primarily focused on dishwashing and kitchen cleaning, making sure chefs and the wider team always have clean equipment to work with. You may also support with light prep and general kitchen tasks.

You don’t need previous experience — what matters most is a positive attitude, reliability, and pride in keeping things clean and organised.

Reporting to: General Manager

Contract: Full-time & Part-time available

Pay: €14.15 per hour

Availability (Important)

• Preferred shift: Afternoon / evening — 1:00pm to 10:00pm


• Weekend availability required, with shifts starting from 7:00am

What You’ll Be Doing

Dishwashing & Cleaning (Main Responsibility)

• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently and safely


• Keep the dishwashing area clean, organised, and running smoothly

Hygiene Hero

• Follow daily and weekly cleaning checklists


• Ensure all kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment meet Sprout’s hygiene standards

Kitchen Support

• Help with basic food prep (washing veg, simple tasks) when required


• Support chefs and the wider kitchen team during busy periods

Food Safety & Health & Safety

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures at all times


• Work with the GM to maintain a safe and well-organised kitchen

Team Support

• Jump in where needed, especially during peak service times
