Job Title: Key Account Manager - Respiratory

In this role, you will shape access and adoption for inhaled therapies across key hospital accounts, directly influencing how care is delivered to patients who need it most. Every informed discussion you lead and every local pathway you unlock will help clinicians act with confidence and speed, improving lives and strengthening population health.

You will join a high-energy commercial team that pairs scientific rigor with real-world impact. Working closely with medical and brand colleagues, you will translate evidence into action, build local advocates, and remove barriers to medicines so that hospitals and multidisciplinary teams can deliver consistent, guideline-aligned treatment. How will you accelerate uptake where it matters most and create momentum that lasts?

Accountabilities:
  • Account Planning and Execution: Build and deliver robust account plans that align customer needs with local objectives, using data to prioritize key prescribers, pharmacists, nurses and MDT stakeholders.
  • Promotion and Education: Skillfully communicate the clinical value of our inhaled brands through the right promotional mix, hosting compliant clinical and promotional meetings that drive informed prescribing decisions.
  • Stakeholder Development: Identify and develop emerging influencers and local advocates; cultivate senior clinical relationships to generate near-term results and long-term partnerships.
  • Coordination for Impact: Coordinate opportunities with the Healthcare Development Partner and collaborate closely with your Franchise Manager to align resources to the highest-value activities.
  • Medicines Access and Pathway Optimization: Identify local opportunities to optimize product positioning and utilization in line with national and local guidelines and the product licence; implement plans that remove obstacles to appropriate use.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Access, interpret and apply data to guide targeting, resource allocation and measurement; maintain accurate customer databases and timely records of activity and outcomes.
  • Brand and Therapy Expertise: Develop deep, credible therapy area knowledge and brand evidence mastery; clearly articulate value propositions and provide the information customers need to act.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Share best practices; feed customer insights and analytics to brand teams to shape materials and propositions; work effectively with medical colleagues to meet customer expectations.
  • Commercial Performance and Governance: Deliver sales, market share and contribution targets; manage your promotional budget responsibly; operate consistently within AZ processes, the Compliance Governance Framework, and the IPHA/EFPIA Code.
  • Continuous Improvement and Growth: Meet or exceed assessment goals; identify training needs and pursue development that elevates your performance and prepares you for future roles.
Essential Skills/Experience:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a science subject.
  • Full driving licence
  • Experience in technical scienced based selling environment with a sound knowledge of key account management within a healthcare setting
  • Clear understanding of how to access, interpret and enable the use of the data that drives account management
  • Proven track record of sales & business management success in technical scientific selling environment
  • Excellent business acumen, demonstrating good analytical, planning and organisational skills.
  • Self-starter and effective problem solver- responsible for own actions and results
  • Strong communication and team working
  • Strong knowledge of the IPHA/ EFPIA Code
Desirable Skills/Experience:
  • Business/ commercial related degree and relevant therapy experience
  • Current knowledge and experience of AZ designated territory and customers
  • Experience of influencing successfully in a complex organisation
  • A flexible approach in being able to adapt as the brands develop in the marketplace.
