Job summary

H&F Electrical Contractors Ltd is seeking a Junior EHS Officer to join our growing team, supporting projects in Limerick, Cork and across Ireland with high safety standards, working alongside experienced EHS professionals, site managers and engineers.

We provide hands-on training and clear opportunities for long-term career progression, including support towards recognised health and safety qualifications, while you assist with inspections, RAMS, records and inductions.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction or related discipline.
• Genuine interest in building a career in construction health, safety and environmental management.
• Awareness of relevant health and safety legislation, ideally the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and Construction Regulations.
• Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.
• Good communication skills, with the confidence to engage with site and management teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Full clean driving licence (Safe Pass certification an advantage, or a willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with site safety inspections and audits, and tracking corrective actions through to close-out.
• Supporting the preparation, review and communication of RAMS.
• Maintaining accurate EHS records, including training records, inspection reports, permits and statutory registers.
• Helping to deliver site inductions and toolbox talks, and promoting safe systems of work.
• Supporting the investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents and near-misses.
• Monitoring compliance with health and safety legislation and H&F Electrical's Safety Statement.
• Supporting environmental management on site, including waste segregation, spill prevention and sustainable working practices.
• Helping to monitor sub-contractor EHS compliance, including reviewing safety documentation and certification.

The Role

As a Junior EHS Officer, you will support the EHS team in promoting and maintaining high standards of environmental, health and safety performance across our sites and offices, helping to ensure that all works are carried out safely and in compliance with legislation.

Your responsibilities will include:

About You
