Job summary

Hanley Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design of critical power distribution systems and PLC-based control panels. You will prepare electrical schematics and single line drawings, supporting tendering activities and production with cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires a completed degree in electrical engineering, experience with panel design, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field.
• Experience designing/control panels and power distribution systems in design/manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with electrical design standards and good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing critical power distribution systems and PLC-based control panels.
• Assemble documentation and develop drawing sets for review by senior engineers.
• Prepare detailed electrical schematics for distribution panels and plant layouts.
• Create single line drawings for tendering and interact with cross-functional teams.
• Support production and design as a communication bridge to resolve issues.

Responsibilities will include

• Assist in the design of critical power distribution systems, PLC based control panels and energy monitoring systems.
• Assemble document packages and develop drawing sets to be reviewed by Senior Electrical and Automation Engineers for various Control systems and UPS systems.
• Assist in the preparation of detailed electrical schematics for distribution panels.
• Application of relevant international design standards to all design projects under supervision of experienced engineer. (eg IEC 61439, UL 508A)
• Prepare Electrical Plant layout drawings.
• Prepare single line drawings for tendering purposes
• Interact with Engineering, Production and Automation personnel and other staff to resolve identified issues and solve problems.
• Act as a communication channel between design and production, be present where and when necessary to assist with production queries.

Requirements

• Completed degree in electrical engineering or similar.
• Practical experience of control panel and/or power distribution systems from a design or manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated success working to prescribed standards.
• Experience with Solid Works Electrical or similar electrical design software an advantage.
• Have excellent communication skills with a professional approach to work and sharp eye for detail.
• Good team player, but capable of working independently.
