Job summary

ABP Ireland is seeking an IT Technician based in our Cahir offices to support production and operations. You will install, repair and troubleshoot software and hardware systems across the factory, while adhering to health, safety and environmental standards.

The ideal candidate will have an IT qualification (level 6 or above), be proficient with Windows, and demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Observe all on site health & safety, food safety and environmental rules.
• Carry out IT process awareness and troubleshooting.
• Complete IT repairs to equipment in food processing, handling and packaging areas.
• Provide technical support for plant facilities and services including CCTV and Time management systems.
• Perform basic hardware, printer and workstation repairs.
• Carry out planned and preventive maintenance on equipment.

We are now looking to recruit an IT Technician based in our offices in Cahir, Co.Tipperary. Reporting to the I.T Manager the successful candidate will work in conjunction with Production and Operations. They will perform installation, repair and troubleshooting work with software and hardware systems/equipment in all areas of the factory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Observe all on site and legislative rules and regulations in terms of Health & Safety, food safety and environmental.
• Carry out I.T process awareness and troubleshooting.
• Complete I.T repairs to food processing, handling and packaging equipment.
• Technical support for plant facilities and services including, CCTV, evacuation systems and Time management systems.
• Be able to perform basic hardware, printer and workstation repairs
• Carry out and record planned maintenance routines on equipment.
• Carry out and record preventive maintenance.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate must have a keen interest in computers, software packages and hardware.

• IT Qualification of Level 6 or above
• Must be proficient in computer applications and windows software packages
• Good communication and organisation skills
• Able to work under pressure as ABP is a fast-paced organisation
• Take ownership of issues
• Willing to travel to different sites for training purposes
