Job summary

eir business talent is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer for a long-term day-rate contract based in Athlone. The role requires 3–5 years’ IT infrastructure experience, including data centres, networks and regulated environments.

Ideal candidates will have strong AD, LAN/WAN knowledge, ITIL practices and hands-on experience with cabling, server and network hardware, plus documentation and stakeholder coordination.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in IT/CS or related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience supporting IT infrastructure, data centre, network or regulated environments.
• Experience with structured cabling, rack builds, patching and server/network hardware.
• Ability to follow approved procedures and project instructions in controlled environments.

Responsibilities

• Support IT infrastructure projects in a long-term day-rate contract.
• Ensure documentation and asset management are up to date.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and maintain change/incident processes.

Job description

eir business talent are seeking applications for an IT Infrastructure Engineer, this is a long term day rate contract located in Athlone.

Required qualifications:

• Degree, diploma, trade qualification or equivalent experience in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Infrastructure, Electrical/ICT systems or a related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years’ experience supporting IT infrastructure, ICT deployment, data centre, network, server room or regulated manufacturing infrastructure projects.
• Practical experience with structured cabling, rack builds, patching, network hardware, server hardware, Wi‑Fi infrastructure, asset management and technical documentation.
• Ability to follow approved procedures, standards, drawings, method statements and project instructions while working safely in construction, commissioning or operational environments.
• Good understanding of LAN/WAN, VLANs, switching, routing, Active Directory, ITIL practices, change control and incident management principles.
• Strong communication, documentation, stakeholder coordination and problem‑solving skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑moving project environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in pharmaceutical, GMP, GxP or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience supporting FAT, SAT, installation verification, commissioning packs, construction turnover packs, vendor turnover packs or operational handover documentation.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow, CMDB, asset lifecycle management, change management and supplier follow-up processes.
