Job summary

Kids Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Deputy Manager for our Afterschool service at Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua, Dublin 18. The role focuses on leading activities in an Irish-speaking environment and supporting the Centre Manager with daily operations during term-time.

Applicants must have excellent English and Irish communication, supervisory experience in childcare, and be prepared for Garda Vetting and references checks. The role offers 20 hours per week minimum with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Good level of spoken Irish (Gaeilge) is essential.
• Minimum of 1 year's professional experience working with children.
• Previous supervisory, senior, or leadership experience in a childcare, educational, or related setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to complete Garda Vetting and reference checks.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Manager with the day-to-day operation of the Afterschool service, including administration and record keeping.
• Assist with planning weekly programmes, games, and activities in line with company guidelines.
• Help lead, support, and motivate team members to deliver a high-quality service.
• Encourage children and staff to communicate in Irish throughout the afternoon.
• Delegate tasks and ensure staff are informed of daily and weekly plans.
• Support children's social, emotional, physical, creative, and language development.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and colleagues.
• Ensure company policies, procedures, and safeguarding standards are followed.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all children.
• Act as the lead in the Centre Manager's absence.
