Job summary

Global Professional Consultants in County Cavan is seeking an Intermediate Estimator to join the main contractor’s estimating team. Based at the Cavan office, the role focuses on preparing cost estimates for tender submissions across a range of construction projects.

You will analyse drawings and specs, source subcontractor quotations, assist tender returns, liaise with design teams and suppliers, and support handover to commercial and site teams.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical, analytical and IT skills.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline required.

Intermediate Estimator

Intermediate Estimator required for a Main Contractor to join their estimating team, based out of their Cavan office. Our client is specifically looking for an Intermediate Estimator with a strong grasp of construction cost estimating to support tender submissions across a range of projects. Our client has a strong pipeline of upcoming projects and continues to grow its estimating function. The successful Intermediate Estimator will report to the Estimating Manager.

Role:

• Prepare cost estimates and pricing for tender submissions across a range of construction projects.
• Analyse tender documentation, drawings and specifications to identify scope and cost drivers.
• Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Assist in the preparation of tender returns, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Liaise with the design team, subcontractors and suppliers during the tender process.
• Support post-tender handover to the commercial and site teams.

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline
• Experience working as an Estimator, ideally with a main contractor
• Strong numerical, analytical and IT skills
