Job summary

PE Global Energy & Technology in County Dublin seeks an experienced Estimator to join its growing Estimating team. You will prepare detailed tenders, develop cost plans and pricing strategies for high-value projects across data centres, pharma, tech, and commercial sectors.

The role requires strong analytical skills, tendering experience, and the ability to manage multiple bids, coordinate with design, planning, procurement and commercial teams, and support project handover on award.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an Estimator or similar role within construction.
  • Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, cost planning and procurement processes.
  • Proven experience preparing tenders for construction projects.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify commercial risks and opportunities within tender documentation.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate, detailed and competitive tenders based on drawings, specifications and BOQs.
  • Manage the tendering process from enquiry to final submission.
  • Source, assess and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Review tender documentation for risks, opportunities and clarifications.
  • Develop cost breakdowns and pricing strategies aligned with scope and market conditions.
  • Collaborate with design, planning, procurement and commercial teams.
  • Attend site visits, pre-tender meetings and post-tender discussions as required.
  • Contribute to improvement of estimating systems and processes.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends and construction costs.
  • Support handover of awarded projects to delivery teams.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Contract

Location: County Dublin

An established Tier 1 construction company is looking to strengthen its Estimating team with the addition of an experienced Estimator.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional to join a growing business and contribute to the successful delivery of high-value projects across a range of sectors, including Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Technology, Commercial, Residential and Office Fit-Out.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate, detailed and commercially competitive tenders based on drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and other tender documentation.
  • Manage the tendering process from initial enquiry through to final submission.
  • Source, assess and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring competitive and compliant pricing.
  • Review tender documentation to identify commercial risks, opportunities, discrepancies and areas requiring clarification.
  • Develop detailed cost breakdowns and pricing strategies aligned with project scope and current market conditions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including design, planning, procurement and commercial functions to develop robust tender submissions.
  • Attend site visits, pre-tender meetings and post-tender discussions as required.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of estimating systems, processes and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends, construction costs and relevant contractual developments.
  • Support the successful handover of awarded projects to the project delivery and commercial teams.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an Estimator, Estimating/QS or similar role within the construction industry.
  • Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, cost planning and procurement processes.
  • Proven experience preparing tenders for construction projects.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and assess commercial risks and opportunities within tender documentation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience using estimating or quantity surveying software.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
