Job summary

Cumming Group in Dublin seeks an experienced Estimator to join the cost management and estimating team. You will develop budgets, undertake cost planning, and produce detailed estimates across multi-project portfolios.

In this role you will interact with clients, drive bid strategies, and lead the preparation of bid packages. Responsibilities include value engineering, cost analysis, contract review, and coaching junior team members.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction, Cost Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field.
• At least 5 years experience in Estimating, Cost Management or Quantity Surveying with professional accreditation.
• Preferred MRICS/AssocRICS/CCP/CEP/CPE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-level budgets, cost models and order-of-magnitude estimates from limited information.
• Evaluate project specifications, plans and requirements to understand scope.
• Perform material takeoffs and quantify resources.
• Prepare precise cost estimates including labor, materials, and equipment.
• Analyze costs, overhead, and profit margins for competitive bids.
• Research competitors' bids and pricing strategies.
• Explore value engineering options to reduce costs without compromising quality.
• Lead bid strategy development and bid package preparation.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to clarify requirements and build relationships.
• Review contracts and participate in contract negotiations.
• Coach and mentor junior cost managers.
