Job summary

A leading database company is seeking an experienced Security Software Engineer for their Infrastructure Security team to design and build scalable security controls. This role involves developing APIs and automation for security posture, integrating security within CI/CD workflows, and collaborating with various engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on security, proficiency in programming languages, and expertise with Kubernetes. This position can be based in Dublin or work remotely throughout Ireland.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering or similar roles with relevant security work.
• Proficiency with at least one programming language (Java, Golang, Rust, Python, or C/C++).
• A deep understanding of Linux and networking concepts.
• Experience building security-related features or platforms like runtime monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and its security ecosystem.
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex security concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core security primitives for MongoDB Atlas.
• Build secure-by-default infrastructure using Linux security mechanisms.
• Develop APIs and tooling for security posture management.
• Integrate security into CI/CD workflows using Terraform.
• Lead complex security projects from design to implementation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define secure architectures.
