Job summary

A leading database company is seeking an experienced Security Software Engineer to join their Infrastructure Security team. This role involves designing scalable security controls within MongoDB Atlas and integrating security into workflows. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in software engineering, strong proficiency in programming (Java, Golang, Rust, Python, or C/C++), and experience with Terraform. They offer flexible remote work options within Ireland, along with a supportive work culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering or similar roles, preferably with security work.
• Proficiency with at least one programming language (Java, Golang, Rust, Python, or C/C++).
• Deep understanding of Linux and networking concepts.
• Experience with cloud providers and their security best practices.
• Strong communication skills to explain security concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core security services for MongoDB Atlas.
• Integrate security into CI/CD workflows using Terraform.
• Develop APIs and tooling to manage security posture at scale.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define secure architectures.
• Lead projects from discovery to implementation.

Skills

5+ years of experience in Software Engineering

Proficiency with programming languages (Java, Golang, Rust, Python, or C/C++)

Understanding of Linux and networking concepts

Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform)

Experience with clouds (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
