Job summary

Amey in Dublin is offering an industry placement for a Bridges and Civil Structures Engineering student. Start date is September 2027, with exposure to meaningful projects from day one and mentorship from industry experts.

As part of the Bridges and Civil Structures team, you will assist in analyses, design, inspections and the development of data-driven solutions while developing practical skills for a career in infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Currently studying a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering
• An interest in bridges / civil structures
• A commitment to sustainable development.

Responsibilities

• Be part of an experienced team, working on some of the most exciting and challenging projects
• Help develop practical, sustainable solutions for bridges and civil structures; from investigation to optioneering, feasibility, concept and detailed design, construction supervision and asset management.
• Assist in structural analysis, design and assessment calculations.
• Develop carbon and cost estimates, 3D models, drawings and technical documents.
• Assist with bridge inspections, investigations, structural health monitoring, and supervision of works
• Contribute to the development and implementation of world-class data, analytics and digital technology solutions.

About the Team

Our bridges and civil structures team work across a range of sectors including transportation, water and energy. Our clients include National Highways, Transport Scotland, Network Rail, Welsh Government, Department for Infrastructure, MOW Bahamas, Local Authorities and D&B Contractors. We have multiple long-term contracts and continue to grow and expand into new regions and markets. Recent / ongoing projects include:

• Lagan Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge
• Severn Bridges Specialist Bridge Inspection and Maintenance

What you’ll be doing

As a Bridges and Civil Structures Placement Student, over the 12 months you will
