Job summary

Amey is offering an Industry Placement in Civil Engineering in Dublin. The placement provides a starting salary of €14.15 per hour, a 37.5-hour work week from Monday to Friday, and a September 2027 start date.

You will join the Highways & Transportation Practice and support engineers on national and local highway projects. As a placement student, you’ll assist with technical reports, design proposals, and client presentations, while learning from industry experts and contributing to asset

About the Team

We have an exciting opportunity for an Placement Student to join our Highways & Transportation Practice which sits within our Engineering Business, a unit that brings together expertise across civil engineering, drainage, pavements and aviation.
Amey work with and alongside key government departments and local authorities across all regions to help shape, maintain and refurbish critical national and community infrastructure, as well as designing major highway projects.

We have a strong track record of producing quality, sustainable designs. With a strong presence and committed workload in all parts of the UK, we can offer varying workload for clients such as; National Highways, Transport Scotland, South Wales Trunk Road Agent, Department for Infrastructure (NI), among others.

What you’ll be doing

As a Placement Student within our Highways & Transportation Practice, you will assist/ provide support to a Team of Engineers to deliver a portfolio of schemes for Clients.

You will work alongside the team to:

• Contribute to technical reports, design proposals, and client presentations;
• Support the delivery of engineering projects for national and local highways;
• Contribute to asset management strategies and lifecycle planning;
• Use industry-standard software and tools to model and analyse options/performance;
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, geotechnical, environmental, and transport engineers;
• Develop innovative solutions and designs that comply with industry standards and guidelines;
• You will use your engineering knowledge and skills to deliver robust designs, which will enable clients to continue the safe, efficient, and optimal management of their assets.
