Job summary

Isd 728 is seeking a Student Support Generalist to provide onsite guidance for staff and create inclusive environments for students in extended day programs from preschool through fifth grade. The role emphasizes coaching, planning, and applying accommodations to ensure successful participation.

The position collaborates with site staff, program coordinators, and managers to review student needs, observe behaviors, and implement intervention strategies, while maintaining attendance and safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience and/or training in inclusive environments for preschool and elementary children.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy for children.
• Team-oriented with organized, detail-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist program coordinators and manager with development, training, and student support systems.
• Observe and record student behaviors to identify intervention strategies.
• Supervise children to ensure a safe, quality environment.
• Make staffing, environmental, medical, and intervention recommendations for extended-day programming.
• Greet and check-in/out children; maintain attendance records.
• Provide snacks and manage supplies to support daily operations.
• Collaborate with onsite staff to create an engaging, inclusive environment.
• Research best practices to support children and coach staff as needed.
• Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, families, and building personnel.
• Communicate with parents, teachers, and office staff to ensure smooth programs.
