Job summary

Down Syndrome Ireland, Dublin Branch is seeking an Employment Support Specialist to help adults with Down syndrome access, secure and sustain meaningful work placements and paid employment in Dublin. You will build strong relationships with employers and promote inclusive opportunities across the city, reporting to the Dublin Employment Lead and collaborating with the National Employment Team.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised qualification in Disability, Social Care, Health Care, Mental Health Care or a related discipline.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team and using initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support members to identify and access suitable work experience, training and paid employment opportunities.
• Develop individual profiles and portfolios for each member.
• Build positive relationships with members, employers and stakeholders.
• Provide pre-employment support including CV preparation and interview practice.
• Develop a network of suitable employers across Dublin and match members to opportunities.
• Conduct workplace assessments and ensure appropriate supports.
