Job summary

Elgin is seeking an experienced In-House Solicitor to partner with development and transactions teams on real estate, land and development matters across the business. You will provide strategic legal advice, manage risk, draft and negotiate key documents, and lead a small legal team to support utility-scale solar and storage projects.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales and/or Ireland with post-qualification experience.
• Significant experience advising on complex real estate transactions.
• Experience drafting and negotiating leases, easements and land rights.
• Experience supporting infrastructure or renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as the principal legal partner to Development Managers on land and development matters.
• Lead due diligence, negotiations and drafting of project agreements.
• Oversee external counsel and manage legal budgets.
• Provide strategic legal advice across planning, permitting and project finance.
