Takeda Ireland seeks an In-Field Medical Advisor to provide scientific leadership across designated therapeutic areas. Reporting to the Country Medical Head, you will lead medical engagements, build relationships with trial sites, and support strategy for launches in Ireland.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality medical support, ensure compliant communications, and contribute to local medical strategy and advisory activities.
Reporting to the Country Medical Head, the In-Field Medical Advisor is responsible for delivering scientific and medical leadership within designated therapeutic area(s). Working in close partnership with commercial colleagues and study site engagement teams, the role ensures the delivery of high-quality medical support across Takeda's existing portfolio and development pipeline.
The position involves leading external medical engagements, fostering relationships with current and future clinical trial sites, and providing actionable insights to inform strategy and enhance organisational readiness for upcoming launches in Ireland.
To lead the medical input into the brand strategic& tacticalplans, including pipeline in conjunction with the Country Medical Head
Provide medical expertise and support for all assigned assets with responsibility to Market Access,Marketingand other internal stakeholders
To manage the scientific, clinical and IPHA Code of Practice support of relevant brand activities across the cross functional team thatsupportsthe Irish business.
Ensure the correct interpretation and communication of scientific data of Takeda products
Development of KOL and Patient Advocacy Group relationship associated with the TA’sin scope
Collaborate with and provide input into the relevant above country teams
Support the Irish Business by establishing the local Medical Strategy Plan and its implementation for the TA’sof responsibility
Tobe the product& therapy areaexpert andlead on medical activities pertinent to the brand team including clinical studies, medically led advisory boards, conference activities.
Stayabreastofevolvingscientificliteraturein thetherapeuticarea(s)ofinterestandgeneratelocalsummaries&criticalassessmentsif required
Use specific disease and product knowledge tobuild Takeda’s reputation in specifictherapy area(s); i.e. answer medical/technical unsolicited enquiries fromHCPs, provide accurate and non-promotional scientific information relating to licensed and unlicensed indications following unsolicited requests from HCPs, etc.
Proactively identify and develop long term peer-to-peer relationships with opinion leaders and other relevant stakeholders in order to understand their needs, segment them accordingly and implement targeted approach and tactics in order to present medical data in the most efficient way
Develop & maintain an in-depthknowledge of the structure & workings of the HSE
Act as field-based reference pointof scientific and clinical expertise for sales force and other internal stakeholders (e.g. Market access) through training and ad-hoc support, in alignment with Takeda project teams
Support compliant local implementation of early access programmes for pipeline products
Capture and share in-field insights& therapy area knowledgeto supportboth themedical andbroader brandstrategy and business development. Share in-field insights in a compliant manner with relevant business functions.
Participate in the development and implementation of key medical activities (e.g. advisory boards, medical education activities and peer-to-peer training activities)
Provideclinical presentations and medical informationin response to enquiries from HCPs
Understandand leverage points ofthepatient journey
Have & maintain a thorough understanding of the IPHACode of Practice
Assistand advise on the preparation of promotionalmaterial including Promomats review
Generation of/ input into non-promotional materials including Promomats review
Provide medical/ scientific input to internal training as required& p provide medical training for allocated therapeutic area / products to other OBU team members
Provide medical/ scientific support to Market Access for NCPE submissions for the IE OBU in the relevant Therapy Area(s)
Assistin formulating responses tocomplex Medical Information enquiriesas required
Budget responsibility for medical affairs activities
Ensure awareness and communication of medical activities to other departments within theLOC
Participate in local product committees and planning cycles(MRP/MYC/LRF)
Understand future therapy areas including competitor environment
Ensuring compliance with the following regulations / requirements:

ICH E6 (R3) Good Clinical Practice
Life Science Degree
Medical degree, Advanced Degree (PhD o r MSc) in life sciences, MPharm
2+ years in Medical Affairs
Direct therapy area experience
Ability to interpret and communicate scientific/ clinical data
Ability to engage with KOL community based on existing strong relationships and help to build lasting relationships with KOLs
