Job summary

CoAction West Cork invites applications for a Basic Grade Occupational Therapist on a fixed term contract at 21 hours per week, based in West Cork WCCDNT. You will work in a multi-disciplinary team to support children with complex needs and their families, developing and delivering OT interventions across home and school settings.

The role requires a Degree in Occupational Therapy, CORU registration eligibility, and membership eligibility with AOTI, along with experience in disability services

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Eligible to be a member of The Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland (AOTI).
• Eligible to work in the state.
• Registered with CORU National Occupational Therapists Registration Board.
• Full Driver's License with access to own transport.
• Post graduate experience working in disability services.
• Knowledge of Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People.

Responsibilities

• Work with the interdisciplinary team to develop IFSPs based on child and family needs.
• Assess developmental and functional skills of young children.
• Develop OT programmes for home and school to support participation.
• Review and adapt OT programmes to meet goals and priorities.
• Implement OT programmes with families and schools and evaluate progress.
• Assess need for specialist equipment and liaise with HSE and schools.

Education

Degree in Occupational Therapy

Eligible to be a member of The Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland (AOTI)

Eligible to work in the state

Registered with CORU National Occupational Therapists Registration Board

Full Driver's License with access to own transport

Post graduate experience in disability services

Knowledge of Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People
