Job summary

National Vehicle Distribution in Ireland seeks a Hydraulic Technician to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair complex multi-deck hydraulic lifting systems on car transports to ensure safety and efficiency.

You will perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, hose and valve replacements, and safety inspections. The role requires hands-on experience with high-pressure systems, welding basics, and willingness to work outdoors and Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications

• Hydraulic schematics mastery and high‑pressure fluid systems knowledge.
• Vocational qualification in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 2–3 years handling heavy hydraulics.
• Direct experience with multi‑deck car hauliers and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Repairs
• Troubleshoot hydraulic system failures.
• Repair leaking cylinders and rams.
• Replace damaged high-pressure hoses.
• Fix faulty control valves.
• Diagnose Power Take‑Off (PTO) issues.
• Routine Maintenance
• Conduct scheduled hydraulic safety inspections.
• Flush and replace hydraulic fluids.
• Clean and change system filters.
• Lubricate moving mechanical joints.
• Calibrate deck pressure settings.
• Safety & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with lifting regulations.
• Test emergency stop mechanisms.
• Verify load-holding check valves work.
• Maintain accurate service repair logs.
