Job summary

Version 1 is seeking an Infrastructure Consultant to join a hybrid role for a public sector client in Ireland. You will administer Windows Server environments, support AD, DNS, Group Policy, and Intune, and drive security and patching across multiple platforms.

You will contribute to incident resolution, project delivery, and disaster recovery planning while producing documentation and collaborating with cross‑functional teams. A Bachelor's degree with 5+ years' experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience in infrastructure engineering or consulting roles.
• Experience working with Windows Server environments.
• Experience with several technologies: VMware, Active Directory, Exchange, Citrix, Azure Administration, Nutanix.
• Experience with datacentre operations including server installation and cabling.
• Experience with SCCM, SCOM or similar management platforms.
• Experience in capacity planning and disaster recovery planning.
• Strong communication across technical and non‑technical audiences.
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Experience delivering infrastructure services within public sector environments.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with security remediation and vulnerability management programmes.

Responsibilities

• Administer enterprise Windows Server environments across physical and virtual platforms.
• Support Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, Intune and associated Microsoft technologies.
• Manage patching, upgrades and security remediation activities.
• Work with security and vulnerability management teams to address CVEs and security threats.
• Investigate and resolve Level 2 and Level 3 incidents.
• Support infrastructure projects, migration activities and platform upgrades.
• Maintain backup, disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
• Produce technical documentation, standards and operating procedures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security and application teams.
