Job summary

Tetra Tech Europe is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support technically complex mechanical and pipeline design across energy and utilities, including gas, district heating, biomethane, hydrogen and buried infrastructures.

The Dublin-based role sits in the Energy and Utilities team, with hybrid working and a focus on delivering compliant, sustainable design solutions and client-facing project support across feasibility to delivery.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Around three to five years of relevant post-graduate experience in mechanical, utilities or infrastructure engineering.
• Chartered status, or active progress towards it, would be an advantage, as would experience in gas, district heating, water, hydrogen or biomethane projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, 3D modelling, stress analysis tools or similar engineering software would also be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design pipes, pipelines and associated infrastructure for gas, heat and utility networks.
• Carry out calculations for flow rates, pressures, wall thickness, thermal loading, velocity, buffer volumes and load conditions.
• Produce high-quality reports, options appraisals and project updates for planning and regulatory purposes.
