Job summary

Dillon Engineering Services is seeking a skilled Mechanical/HVAC Engineer for a 12-month contract in Dublin, operating on a hybrid basis. The role involves delivering complex projects across semiconductor, assembly, and advanced industrial environments.

You will contribute across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility studies to construction support, working within design/bid/build and design/build frameworks. Strong collaboration and design leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Mechanical/HVAC design in industrial or advanced technology environments.
• Strong understanding of HVAC design, including calculations, specifications, sizing and detailing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to engage effectively with engineers, clients, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Organise, assign, and delegate design tasks to support construction documentation delivery.
• Manage project scope, budget, and schedule to meet objectives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, structural, architectural, and process disciplines.
• Lead plant design activities independently as an area or system lead.
• Deliver Mechanical/HVAC plant design using 2D and 3D integrated design tools.
• Perform quality reviews of 2D/3D models and deliverables.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and vendor bid evaluations.
• Support proposal development, scopes of work, schedules, and budgets.
• Develop effort-hour estimates for Mechanical/HVAC design activities.
• Support site selection and due diligence in early project phases.
• Apply engineering judgment for design solutions and alternatives.
• Conduct field activities and observe construction works.
• Review construction submittals for alignment with design intent.
