Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an HVAC & Refrigeration Technician for a contract role within the data centre sector. You will install, maintain and fault-find HVAC and cooling systems to support reliable critical infrastructure operations on site.

Responsibilities include commissioning split systems, servicing VRVs and CO2 refrigeration where required, plus adherence to SHEQ standards and QAQC processes. A relevant qualification and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in HVAC and refrigeration or mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of CO2 refrigeration systems.
• Practical experience with welding and split system installation.
• Familiarity with VRVs, heat pumps, air conditioning units, high-wall units and cassettes.
• Experience in fault-finding; QAQC experience beneficial.
• Understanding of SHEQ procedures and safe working practices.
• Relevant HVAC, refrigeration or mechanical qualification.
• Strong problem-solving and on-site work capability.

Responsibilities

• Install, weld and commission split HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Work with VRV systems, heat pumps, AC units, wall units and cassettes.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance on HVAC and cooling equipment.
• Diagnose faults and support QAQC activities.

Job description

Our client is seeking an HVAC & Refrigeration Technician for a contract opportunity within the data centre sector. The role will involve the installation, maintenance and fault-finding of HVAC and cooling systems, supporting reliable and efficient critical infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installing, welding and commissioning split HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Working with VRV systems, heat pumps, air conditioning units, high-wall systems and cassettes
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) on HVAC and cooling equipment
• Diagnosing faults and supporting quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) activities
• Working with CO2 refrigeration systems where required
• Following safe working practices and maintaining an understanding of SHEQ requirements
• Working collaboratively to support the reliable operation of data centre facilities

Job Requirements:

• Experience in HVAC, refrigeration or mechanical engineering
