The Marine Institute is seeking an HR professional to join our Human Resources team in Galway. You will support a broad range of HR activities including recruitment campaigns, learning and development, HR operations, reporting, and engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities include end-to-end recruitment, supporting hiring managers, LMS implementation, and data-driven HR reporting. Our role offers exposure to diverse HR projects within a collaborative environment.

Job description

As a member of the Human Resources team, you will play a key role in supporting a broad range of HR activities within a dynamic and collaborative environment. This is a varied position that offers the opportunity to contribute across recruitment, learning and development, HR operations, employee engagement, reporting, and organisational projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating end-to-end recruitment and selection campaigns, from advertising vacancies through to onboarding new employees.
  • Supporting hiring managers with workforce planning, recruitment activities, and interview processes.
  • Assisting with the implementation of Learning and Development initiatives and programmes.
  • Providing HR operational support across areas such as induction, probation, employee records, contract administration, and employee lifecycle activities.
  • Maintaining HR systems and ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with GDPR requirements.
  • Preparing HR reports and workforce metrics to support organisational planning and decision-making.
  • Responding to HR queries and supporting managers and employees with HR policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Supporting employee engagement initiatives, organisational development activities, and HR projects.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR services, policies, and processes within an Excellence Through People certified organisation.

Duration of Contract:

This role comes with a Contract of Indefinite Duration subject to performance and probation. The successful candidate will be on probation for the first six months of this contract.

Eligible Candidates must be:

  • A citizen of the European Economic Area (EEA). The EEA consists of the Member States of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway; or
  • A citizen of the United Kingdom (UK); or
  • A citizen of Switzerland pursuant to the agreement between the EU and Switzerland on the free movement of persons; or
  • A non-EEA citizen who is a spouse or child of an EEA or UK or Swiss citizen and has a stamp 4 or a Stamp 5 visa.
