Job summary

Ryanair, Europe’s Favourite Airline, is seeking a HR Generalist to support the full HR function across Portugal with a focus on recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and compliance.

You will work with a team to keep HR operations running smoothly, handling contracts, background checks, payroll data, and audits while supporting managers and staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year HR experience with Portuguese-based employees or knowledge of Portuguese labour law.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese.
• HR Degree or Masters.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• PC skills with common office software.

Responsibilities

• Support recruitment and selection process for Portugal.
• Onboarding including issuing contracts & background checks.
• Provide HR support for the employee review process.
• Take notes and represent HR at meetings including Annual Appraisals and Disciplinary procedures.
• Collate payroll data for salary changes, adjustments & expenses.
• Monitor employee absence and return to work processes.
• Ensure GDPR compliance in recordkeeping and data processing.
• Handle employee relations, grievances and disciplinary procedures.
• Produce weekly HR reports for HR Manager and Directors.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and update policies.

Ryanair are currently recruiting for a HR Generalist to join Europe’s Largest Airline Group.

The successful candidate will be dealing with a broad range of HR issues and will help support the full HR function and joining a team that helps keep the skies moving!

As a HR Generalist you will play a critical role in supporting our employees and managers on a daily basis. From recruitment & onboarding to employee relations and compliance, you’ll help ensure our HR operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the recruitment and selection process for Portugal
• Onboarding including issuing contracts & background checks
• Provide HR support for the employee review process
• Taking notes and representing HR at meetings, including Annual Appraisals, Review Meetings and Disciplinary procedures.
• Collating payroll data in terms of salary changes, adjustments & expenses
• Monitor employee absence to identify trends & complete return to works
• Ensure recordkeeping and data processing procedures comply with GDPR requirements
• Handle employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary procedures
• Supporting staff with any HR queries as and when they arise
• Producing weekly reports for the HR Manager & Company Directors
• Ensure compliance with Employment laws and the update of policies & procedures
• Any additional duties as required from the HR Manager
• Minimum of 1 year experience in HR dealing with Portuguese based employees and/or Portuguese labour law.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese
• HR Degree or Masters
• Ability to work in a pressurised and fast paced environment
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• PC Skills (Word, Excel, Power point etc.)
