Job summary

Howden Ireland, based in Dublin or Wexford, are seeking a HR Generalist on a permanent basis to provide day‑to‑day HR support across the Howden Retail division. You will act as a key contact for employees and managers and be an integral part of the HR team.

The successful candidate will support the HR Advisor, HR Business Partner, and Head of HR in delivering a high‑quality, compliant, and people‑focused HR service, working across the full employee lifecycle and improving HR processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a HR Generalist role.
• Experience using Workday or another HRIS.
• CIPD qualification (or working towards) or relevant HR/business degree.

Responsibilities

• Support onboarding activities and respond to initial queries.
• Process HR transactions in Workday within SLAs (new hires, changes, etc.).
• Maintain accurate employee records and data integrity across HR systems.
• Respond to HR queries via the HR inbox in a timely manner.
• Prepare employment letters and HR documentation.
• Assist with ER case preparation and note‑taking under guidance of Head of HR.
• Support sickness and absence management and return to work arrangements.
• Produce routine HR reports (headcount, absence, turnover) and support ad‑hoc reporting.
