Job summary

CarTrawler in Dublin is seeking a proactive HR Generalist for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll drive HR operations across onboarding, payroll, and employee lifecycle management, delivering an outstanding employee experience for a diverse global team.

Working with the People Experience Manager and the broader People Team, you’ll turn people data into insights, improve processes, and explore how technology like HiBob, Excel and Power BI can boost efficiency and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

Great employee experiences don't happen by accident, and that's where you come in! We're looking for a proactive, people-focused HR Generalist to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract, someone who loves making things work better for everyone. You'll play a key role in delivering seamless HR operations, supporting employees and managers, and turning people data into meaningful insights. From employee relations and payroll coordination to HR systems and process improvements, you'll bring fresh thinking and a hands-on approach to everything you do. Working closely with our People Experience Manager and wider People Team, you have the opportunity to make a real difference to how our people experience life at CarTrawler.

What you’ll do as a HR Generalist

• Deliver a seamless employee experience across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding and employee changes to leave management and offboarding.
• Be a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, providing practical guidance on HR policies, processes and employee relations matters, including performance, probation and absence management.
• Coordinate payroll activities, ensuring employee information is accurate, deadlines are met and any discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
• Maintain accurate employee data and support the day-to-day management and improvement of our HR system, HiBob, including reporting, workflows and automation.
• Turn people data into meaningful insights by creating reports and dashboards, identifying trends and helping the People Team make informed decisions.
• Champion smarter ways of working by improving HR processes, simplifying workflows and exploring opportunities to use technology and AI to enhance efficiency and employee experience.

What you’ll bring to the team

• At least 3 years' experience in HR operations, HR administration or a generalist HR role, with a strong understanding of the employee lifecycle.
• Practical employee relations experience, with the confidence to guide managers, exercise sound judgement and recognise when additional support is needed.
• Experience coordinating payroll activities, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality and meeting deadlines.
• Strong HR systems and analytical skills, ideally with experience using HiBob or a similar platform, alongside Excel, Power BI or other reporting tools.
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset, with experience improving processes, using data to identify opportunities and taking ownership of tasks through to completion.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, handle sensitive information and deliver a positive employee experience. A relevant degree or equivalent experience is welcomed, and a CIPD qualification is a plus.

Hybrid Working & Eligibility:

Our hybrid working policy requires employees to work onsite at our CarTrawler Dublin office a minimum of 2 days per week (Tues & Wed).
