Responsibilities

• Cleaning and servicing all areas of the facility to the highest standard, including bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors, and communal spaces.
• Carrying out deep cleans of resident rooms and replenishing supplies daily.
• Handling laundry tasks as needed, with care and discretion.
• Reporting faults or low stock to the Hygiene Supervisor promptly.
• Complying with health, safety, infection prevention, waste disposal and confidentiality policies.
• Respecting residents' belongings, privacy, and dignity at all times.

About Us: Hamilton Park is a 24/7 residential care facility providing high-quality care to people in our community. Our housekeeping team is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors every day.

The Role: We are looking for a diligent and caring Housekeeping Assistant to join our support services team. Reporting to the Support Services Manager, you will maintain Hamilton Park's high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility. The post-holder may also be deployed to support the laundry function as service needs require.

What You'll Be Doing

• Cleaning and servicing all areas of the facility to the highest standard, including resident bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors, communal spaces, sluices, and offices
• Carrying out deep cleans of resident rooms in line with scheduled cleaning programmes
• Replenishing hand gels, liquid soaps, and disposable supplies across the facility daily
• Emptying bins, damp dusting, vacuuming, and transporting waste to designated disposal areas
• Using cleaning chemicals correctly and storing them safely in line with facility guidelines
• Completing cleaning checklists and records accurately
• Reporting equipment faults or low stock levels to the Hygiene Supervisor promptly
• Supporting the laundry function when required, including sorting, washing, and returning residents' personal clothing and facility linen with care and discretion
• Complying with all Hamilton Park policies including health and safety, infection prevention and control, waste disposal, and GDPR/confidentiality
• Treating residents' belongings, personal space, and privacy with the utmost respect and dignity at all times

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Junior Certificate or equivalent
• Ability to work reliably and independently with minimal supervision

Desirable:

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent
• Previous housekeeping or domestic services experience, ideally in a nursing home, hospital, or care setting
• Familiarity with HIQA standards for residential care

Working Hours: Full-time and part-time positions available. Shifts are rostered across a 7-day week including weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis.

Salary Competitive, commensurate with experience and grade.
