Job summary

Beechtree Nursing Home is seeking a kind, caring and reliable Household Staff member to join our housekeeping team. You will help maintain a safe, clean, and homely environment for residents while upholding dignity and respect in daily duties.

We welcome candidates who take pride in their work, have a positive attitude, and enjoy being part of a supportive team. Experience in nursing homes is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience; nursing home experience is desirable.
• Caring and respectful approach to residents.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliability, flexibility and a willingness to learn.
• Commitment to cleanliness, hygiene and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the Nursing Home.
• Clean residents' bedrooms, communal areas, toilets and wash-hand basins.
• Empty general, clinical and Sangenic waste bins as required.
• Vacuum carpets and clean floor surfaces safely.
• Clean and polish work surfaces and replenish essential supplies.
• Respond promptly to spills and use appropriate wet-floor signage.
• Follow Infection Prevention and Control and Health and Safety procedures.
• Record completed cleaning duties and report any concerns about residents to nursing staff.
• Respect residents' privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
• Participate in training and work cooperatively with colleagues across all departments.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as required.
