Mowlam Healthcare is hiring a Housekeeper for Kilmainhamwood Nursing Home. The role covers cleaning in both general and laundry areas, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety.

You will interact with residents, families and visitors, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to health and safety regulations. The position requires reliable, flexible staff who can work independently or as part of a team and communicate effectively in English.

Formación

• 1 year experience in a similar role.
• Healthcare environment experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of COSHH, RIDDOR and health and safety regulations.

Responsabilidades

• Clean all areas of the home to a high standard including general areas and laundry.
• Handle laundry tasks including washing, ironing and sorting by name tags.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times and observe health and safety regulations.
• Report faults and hazards to the Home Manager and adopt safe working practices.
• Demonstrate good communication with residents, families and visitors.

We are hiring for a Housekeeper to join our existing household team in Kilmainhamwood Nursing Home!

Overview of the Role

The Housekeeper will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of home management with regards to ensuring that a high standard of cleanliness is adhered to at all times. This role will involve working in both the general areas of the nursing home and laundry.

What does this role entail?

• Responsible for all aspects of cleaning within the home, such as vacuuming, damp, mopping, dusting, retaining excellent cleaning standards throughout the Nursing Home.
• Ensuring that all cleaning products/chemicals and equipment are used and stored appropriately.
• Assessing and confirming that all equipment/furnishings are in good repair and clean: reporting faults to manager
• Demonstrating a good manner when dealing with residents, family and visitors
• Handling all laundry including washing, ironing, and sorting clothes by name tags
• Ensuring cleanliness and safety in the laundry area
• Maintaining confidentiality at all times
• Being aware of all health and safety regulations, reporting hazards/potential hazards immediately.
• Ad hoc duties as required

What are the skills and experience needed?

• 1 year experience working in a similar role (required)
• Experience working in a healthcare environment (with a good knowledge of HIQA standards) an advantage
• Awareness of following essential: COSHH Regulation. (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).Riddor Regulation. (Reporting of incidents, diseases, dangerous occurrences).Health and Safety Legislation & Manual Handling
• Excellent communication skills
• Can work independently or part of a team
• Be reliable & keep to schedule
• Fluent level of English both written and oral
• Flexibility will be required
