Job summary

The Johnstown Estate in Ireland is seeking a practical Maintenance Operative to join our team. This all-round maintenance role focuses on keeping a busy hotel running smoothly and resolving a variety of day-to-day tasks with a can-do attitude.

You'll perform general repairs, assist with plumbing and electrical tasks, and tackle painting, carpentry and other trades as needed. A full clean driving licence would be an advantage, and safety is a priority.

Qualifications

• Hands-on and practical maintenance experience, in a hotel or similar environment.
• Experience with plumbing is advantageous.
• Good problem-solving and DIY skills across trades.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel and estate.
• Respond to maintenance requests from departments and resolve issues quickly.
• Carry out basic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
• Assist with electrical and lighting maintenance as needed.
• Perform painting, carpentry, tiling and minor building repairs.
