Job summary

ESB in Galway is seeking an HGV Mechanic to maintain, repair and inspect vehicles and plant equipment in line with legislation and manufacturer recommendations. You will work with a Fleet & Equipment team to ensure safety and reliability across assets.

The role requires a recognised mechanical apprenticeship, a Level 6 craft certification, and a full EU driving licence withtravel as needed. Salary ranges from €44,000 to €50,000 per year, with a supportive, values-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical apprenticeship completed.
• Advanced Level 6 Craft accreditation (FAS/Solas) in a relevant mechanical field.
• Full EU driving licence (B) and access to a car; travel required.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance up-keep and repair of HGV & LGV vehicles and equipment.
• Carry out inspections and certify hoists and cranes as required.
• Complete work to a high standard in line with legislation and procedures.
• Work safely and contribute to team and personal development.
• Test and certify vehicles and equipment in a timely, cost-effective manner.
• Provide excellent customer service.
