Job summary

Ward & Ward Plant Hire & Haulage in Annaholty, Birdhill, Co. Tipperary, is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to service, inspect and repair a range of heavy goods vehicles and trailers.

You will diagnose faults, carry out maintenance, and prepare vehicles for CVRT/MOT and compliance inspections, ensuring roadworthiness and safety. The role also involves completing preventative maintenance schedules, maintaining records, responding to breakdowns, and keeping the workshop clean and safe for all

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Carry out vehicle inspections in line with manufacturer and legal standards.
• Prepare vehicles for CVRT/MOT and other compliance inspections.
• Complete preventative maintenance schedules to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Perform brake, suspension, steering, transmission and engine repairs.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults efficiently.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and job reports.
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns and emergency repairs when required.
• Keep a clean, organised and safe working environment.

Ward & Ward are seeking an experienced and motivated HGV Mechanic to join our growing fleet maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out inspections, servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a range of heavy goods vehicles and trailers, ensuring our fleet remains safe, compliant and roadworthy.
