Job summary

National Vehicle Distribution is seeking an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing and conversion operations, driving safety, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency across production lines. This role bridges strategic targets with tactical floor execution, overseeing maintenance, supply chain coordination, inventory management, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of progressive operations management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive operations management experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Experience leading frontline supervisors and cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily production operations to meet schedules and minimize downtime.
• Lead Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency.
• Enforce EHS policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain product quality with QA teams and ISO standards.
• Manage budgets and monitor labour/material costs.
• Hire and develop a high-performing operations team.
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics on materials and inventory.

Role Summary

The Operations Manager leads day-to-day manufacturing and conversion operations, driving safety, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency across production lines. This role bridges strategic targets and tactical floor execution of, overseeing plant maintenance, supply chain coordination, inventory management, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Management: Direct daily operations to meet production schedules, output targets, and customer demand while minimizing downtime. This also include daily operations meeting with all production staff.

• Continuous Improvement: Spearhead Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste, shorten lead times, and optimize workflow efficiency.

• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) policies, ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining zero accidents on site.

• Quality Assurance: Partner with Quality teams to maintain high product quality standards, root out defect causes, and ensure ISO/industry compliance.

• Budget & Cost Control: Manage operational budgets, control labour/material costs, and track key operational metrics with the Cafco Balanced Scorecard.

• Team Leadership: Hire, mentor, and build a high-performing operations team, fostering clear communication and cross-functional accountability.

• Supply Chain & Inventory: Coordinate with procurement and logistics to align raw material inputs and finished goods inventory with demand forecasts.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.

• Experience: 5+ years of progressive operations management experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Technical Skills: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma principles ERP systems and ISO standards.Leadership: Proven track record of managing frontline supervisors and cross functional teams with strong conflict resolution and decision‑making skills.
