Job summary

Charles Vial Fish Merchant Limited (T/A C Fish) in Ireland is seeking a HGV Store Person to perform a blend of rigid/trailer driving and warehouse duties. The role involves moving product between stores, despatching orders, and contributing to accurate stock management.

The successful candidate will need an HGV licence, with forklift training provided if needed, and a strong focus on safety, quality, and timely deliveries. Work location is on-site at multiple sites in Ireland.

Qualifications

• Health & safety and PPE procedures must be followed.
• Experience in a similar role and knowledge of stock control would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Move product between stores and sites and deliver to customers.
• Load orders onto vehicles and ensure right-first-time delivery.
• Maintain a safe working environment and complete vehicle checks.
• Keep accurate records of material and product transactions.
• Assist admin staff to ensure accurate stock levels.
• Operate forklift trucks for loading and unloading (training provided).

Job description

We are seeking to recruit a HGV Store Person who is familiar with a broad range of activities. The position is a combination of driving Rigid trucks and/or Artic trucks along with warehouse storage duties. Washdowns of truck and product bins, organization and maintenance of warehouse area.

The successful candidate will need to be able to work closely with the Planning and Production groups to ensure efficient operations. The Store person will have responsibility for moving product between stores and sites, delivery to customer and collections from suppliers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Previous experience working in a similar role and holding a current forklift licence would be considered as an advantage but is not essential.
• Possession of an in date HGV Licence is essential.
• Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring that all health & safety requirements and procedures are adhered to, including the correct use of specified PPE and good manufacturing practice standards.
• Ensuring Vehicle checks are carried out daily.
• Inform transport company of any defects to Rigids and/or Tractor and Trailer Units.
• Maintaining a safe driving culture.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate records of all material and product transactions.
• Ensuring all paperwork is correct and goods received are in good order, assisting admin staff to ensure that accurate stocks are held on site.
• Ensure that customer orders are despatched accurately and on time. Load these orders onto the relevant vehicles in a safe and responsible manner to ensure that deliveries are made to the customer on a right first-time basis.

• Ensure all requirements of accredited bodies including, BRCGS are adhered to as a routine part of the production process.
• Operate forklift trucks for loading and unloading goods and storage. Undertake any training required that relates to the driving of FLT’s and HGVs.
• Carry out any other reasonable tasks.

Licence/Certification:

• C Driving licence (essential)
• CE Driving Licence (preferred)
• Operate a forklift or pallet truck (training provided if needed)

Pay: €31,000.00-€37,000.00 per year
